Using specialist equipment and having received extensive training in Rug cleaning we can offer specialist services to restore your rugs. We can arrange to collect your rugs and deliver them back at your convenience. Here is some information on the cleaning process:

The Rug Cleaning Process

Here are the 9 main stages of the cleaning process which we follow to ensure your rugs are safely and thoroughly deep cleaned. Using specialist equipment alongside extensive training and experience we offer the most thorough cleaning available for rugs!

1. Assessment & Testing

Each rug is inspected to determine the rug type (hand knotted, machine made) and fibre construction (natural fibres such as wool, cotton, silk, jute, viscose or man-made like nylon, polyester, polypropylene) also for stains and any problem areas. Dye stability is tested to assess the risk of colour run. Once this information is processed the most appropriate cleaning method for the rug will be chosen.

2. Pre Clean

Often overlooked, dusting is a vital step in the rug cleaning process. Prior to starting the wet cleaning process the rugs are placed face down onto dusting grids and gently beaten using a specialist mechanical rug beater. This thorough dusting procedure removes all foreign particles from deep down the rug pile.

An air duster is used to remove any additional fine particles.

3. Deep Clean

We apply specialist products and use our purpose-built wash floor to safely immerse the rugs in cleaning solution which are then agitated with a soft rotary brush machine to ensure the rug is thoroughly cleaned. The rug is then thoroughly rinsed.

4. Advanced stain removal

The wash floor provides the most thorough rug cleaning although some stains may require further attention and advanced stain removal techniques to increase the likelihood of complete stain elimination.

5. Fringe cleaning

The rug cleaning process wouldn’t be complete without giving the fringes the much-needed attention. Often fragile, we clean them by hand with an individually tailored cleaning solution for the best results.

6. Drying

We then use a rug centrifuge to remove the excess moisture leaving the rug up to 95 % dry.

Having a rug centrifuge allows us to eliminate problems caused with long drying times due to retained water. Your rug is then moved to our dedicated drying area.

Our rug drying room is equipped with a climate control system, industrial dehumidifiers and fans to continuously circulate dry air around the rugs to complete the drying process in just a few hours.
